The English Opens Doors Program and the National Volunteer Center are pleased to announce that we are now officially accepting volunteer applications for the 2018 school year!
Our program seeks to provide Chilean public schools with more opportunities to learn and practice their English. We are currently recruiting native and near-native English speakers from all across the world to teach for one or two semesters in vulnerable, Chilean public schools. Accepted English Opens Doors Program volunteers will work in conjunction with Chilean English teachers as assistant English teacher in public schools throughout Chile. Our volunteers are responsible for planning and executing dynamic and interactive activities that focus on speaking and listening skills. Volunteers will teach their classes in 100 percent English, creating an immersive language and cultural experience for students. Our volunteers’ classes are meant to be fun and engaging, creating and encouraging a conducive learning environment for students.
Similar to other years, we have opened both one-semester and two-semester services. At this time, we have scheduled on fall semester service (VS1, March 19th – July 22nd), one fall and spring semester service (VS2, April 2nd – November 24th), and one spring semester service (VS3, July 23rd – November 24th). For more details, you can visit our Volunteer Services & Dates page (linked here). We are currently accepting applications for all three volunteer services.
Applicants are accepted on a rolling basis, so we would encourage you to apply sooner rather than later! Our website is full of information regarding the volunteer role and benefits, placement opportunities, and previous volunteer experiences. We invite you to explore, and if you have any questions, do not hesitate to email us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
